Mutton Pepper Fry

Ingredients:

  • Mutton – 500 gms
  • Black pepper – 2 tsp
  • Green chilli – 2
  • Ginger-Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Onion – 2 big, sliced finely
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Tomato – 1, sliced
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

Procedure:

  1. Make a paste from black pepper, green chilli, ginger, garlic and coriander leaves. Marinate the mutton with this mixture along with lemon juice and salt. Keep it aside for about 1-2 hours.
  2. Sauté onions till they turn golden brown. Add masala powders. Followed by curry leaves and tomatoes.
  3. To this add the  marinated mutton pieces. Mix well. Add 1 cup water.
  4. Cook until the mutton is properly cooked
  5. Add more pepper once the gravy has dried up and nicely coated on pieces.
  6. Serve it with Hot Appams and Porotta.
