Quick and Easy Sandwiches.
It’s Back to School week in the UAE. I bet as a parent you are still rushing through the last minute shopping that needs to be done before your tot heads back to school. Often parents complain of getting back lunch boxes exactly how it was packed. With little or no food consumed by the child, packing of lunch boxes is often a chore most parents dread.
So here we come to the rescue, today we give you two recipes which are going to be super hit with your kids. These sandwiches ensure that your child gets all the vital nutrients while at the same time has a hearty meal.
These recipes are incredibly simple and can be made in a jiffy, so all mum’s and dad’s get out your apron and start sandwich’ing!
1. Boiled Egg and Veggie Sandwich
1- Hard boiled egg
4- Cherry tomatoes
1- Small boiled & peeled potato
5-Fried strips of turkey bacon ( Cut into half)
Salt as per taste
1/4 Teaspoon of ground black pepper
2 Tablespoon- Olive oil
2 Slices bread
1 slice of American cheese
Toss the olives,potato,cherry tomatoes, bacon together in a bowl. Season it with the salt,pepper and olive oil.
Grill the slices of bread with butter, spread the contents in the bowl onto the slices, put in the sliced pieces of egg along with the cheese.
You can choose a variety of vegetables to accompany this sandwich, such as lettuce, capsicum, celery, carrots etc. As per the likes of your child.
2. Chicken Garlic Butter Sandwich
3- Cloves of Garlic
1- Slice of American cheese
1- Leaf of lettuce
Smoked chicken ham
2 slices of bread
6 Tsp melted butter
Salt as per taste
1/4 Tsp Pepper
Finely mince the garlic and add it to the melted butter. Add salt and pepper.
Spread the garlic-butter mixture on the bread, along with the smoked chicken and finely chopped lettuce.
Place the cheese between the slices of the bread.
Grill the sandwich.
Now sit back and relax, an empty lunch box is assured.
